Joomla! How-To Blog

ostraining

I have been subscribing to OSTraining Joomla Support for a couple years now. They are wonderful at answering forum questions in record time. When I saw that they were teaching Intermediate Joomla in Chicago, I asked them if I should attend. They said no because I already know everything they're teaching. (!) But they offered to give me a lifetime subscription to their services if I came to help. This is so great. I used their forum at least a dozen times in the last few days alone, and turn to them every week as a rule. This lifetime subscription will be a big help to me and all my Joomla clients.

So wish me well on this maiden journey of teaching Joomla in a classroom setting. I am so looking forward to it.

This is a super quick tutorial on updating articles on your Joomla site from the front-end. This only addresses simple text updates.

In coordination with my latest Joomla website launch, I have uploaded three tutorials to youtube, teaching:

These videos speak to the maintenance of Santa Fe Chiropractor, Barbara Turunen, D.C.'s website. But they are relevant to anyone who is updating a Joomla site that offers front-end editing with JCE content editor. Enjoy!

Would you like an easy way to continually keep Google's attention on your Joomla site? Xmap is a Joomla component/plugin that automatically adds your new posts to a dynamic sitemap which feeds to your Google webmaster tools account. This means that Google gets PINGED every time you add a new post or article to your site. When Google gets pinged, your site is more likely to climb up the Google ranks.

Here is how to do it yourself:
